About Tax Planning for All
Covers the 2026 federal tax year
Tax Planning for All lets you test a tax move before you make it. Start from last year's return or your own numbers, add strategies such as a 401(k) contribution, an HSA, a Roth conversion, charitable giving or tax-loss harvesting, and see side by side how each one could change your 2026 federal tax and the cash it needs.
It was built by an experienced CPA and is shared freely, so more people can see the trade-offs in their own numbers before talking to an adviser or making a decision.
What it calculates
- 2026 federal income tax under the published 2026 brackets, deductions and limits.
- Self-employment tax, the Additional Medicare Tax and the Net Investment Income Tax.
- The alternative minimum tax, the qualified business income deduction and itemized deductions, with reviewed overrides where a situation is too complex to infer.
- Each strategy compared against your own 2026 starting point, including cash needed.
What it does not do
- It does not calculate state or local taxes.
- It does not determine whether you are eligible for a strategy.
- It does not file a return, give advice, or replace a tax professional.
- It does not calculate future-year effects such as depreciation recapture when property is sold, unless the site says so.
